Hi all, Ive posted a couple of times on the flu jab and went to have mine done of Friday. I was told I had to take the swine flu one and pneumonia. So had them done (Friday pm) and up to Saturday pm was feeling fine. then it hit! Feel really rough and flu like, paracetemol help but only for a couple of hours. My arm is really sore and I feel like Ive got the flu, not a full blown attack of it, but bad enough. Has anyone else had this and how long does it last? I really dont want to have to take time off work again!!!!

Hope you are all ok after your jabs.

Heather xxx

ps Ive got to go bak in 4 weeks tohave the seasonal one, mmmm seriously thinking about not the way I feel right now!!!

Hi Heather
so sorry to hear you are feeling unwell, I had my flu jab this year and felt fine but my partner had his and he felt awful and had a sore arm for a good few days, I've already had the pneumonia jab a few years ago and the swine flu jab was in with the flu jab so only had one injection ThumpUp
Now you have had the pneumonia jab, thats it done with as you dont have them every year so thats a bonus, hope you feel better soon....Eileen xx

hi Heather,

as i posted on the Flu Jab Thread i had mine done on Thursday morning ... the combined Flu/Swine Flu one and have been fine, after much trepidation about having it done.

it wasn't suggested to me that i need the Swine Flu one ... and i didn't have that one last year and don't intend to now as far as my Surgery was concerned that's me covered. it seems to vary again as to where we live.

hope to hear you feel better soon,

Suzanne x

Hi, I had my first ever flu jab on Thursday after much deliberation. The nurse was unsure as the recommendations from the Health Authority was that a first timer should have the HN1N (I think I got that right) 4 weeks before the combined flu/swine jab. I wasn't very happy to have too many jabs, so was keen to have just the flu/swine combined jab. The nurse went to check with the two doctors that were at the surgery and both recommended that I have only the one jab. Thank goodness for that. The nurse said it wasn't a live vaccine so I couldn't get the flu from it only maybe a sore / swollen arm (which I have), other than that I am ok.

Hope you are feeling better soon.

Sorry to hear you are so poorly .

I had the combined one done on Friday I have been fine. If I press the place where
the needle went I can feel it otherwise no problem.

Get well soon

Hi girls, thanks so much for your replies. Feel much better now, my arm is still sore and very "mottled and red" where I had the injection. I know in years gone by when Ive had tetanus, typhoid jabs etc for holidays and what not Ive always had a reaction, maybe im just a wimp!!!

Anyway, thanks for the replies, Im back up to speed now, swine flu, pneumonia pah! I laugh in their faces, just try and get me now!!!!
